Sammi was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a few months before her 4th birthday. She lived life on her terms, and touched so many lives along the way. She had an amazing soul, and a smile and laugh that will be remembered forever. An artistic and creative rebel, with a heart of gold.

It used to be us against the rest of the world.  

We grew up side by side, as our young lives swirled.  

I watched you become this big, shining light, 

That shone onto the world through the darkest of night.

Your gypsy soul sought to fill a hole in your heart.

I hated to watch it tear your little life apart.  

But on this quest your smile became the sun,

That warmed the hearts, minds, and souls of everyone.

But we promise to forget you not, nor let your light fade.

Just as you will exist forever in our hearts and minds, 

We know that everything happens for a reason, and all in God’s time.
